Raja Hanna (Policy Lead – Clean Heat Grants, Clean Heat Funding Policy) is going to talk about the UK Government’s ambitions for being a zero-carbon economy and society by 2050, the benefits with going clean early and the important role heat decarbonisation has to play in fulfilling our net zero ambition. I will specifically talk about how we want to embed clean heat in the UK’s building stock, through retrofit energy efficiency uplift and establishing a framework for clean heat in new build.
He will outline the ambitious program of work already underway to support heat decarbonisation through retrofit, and the work we are doing to set out the policy framework for new build. He will talk about our ambitions for the 2025 Future Homes Standard, why we are doing this and what we are doing to help industry get ready for 2025. He will also explain which technology we currently feel forms the pathway for decarbonising heat at scale, and how we are investing in the future of the construction sector.
